Report on St Malachy's concert, including video and photos

New composition for USA tour is "out of this world"!

Cappella Caeciliana is one of Northern Ireland's leading choirs, regularly performing in the Belfast area and beyond in both concert and liturgical settings. We have toured in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Rome, and at Easter 2011 undertook our most ambitious overseas visit so far - to the USA.

The tour was led by Donal McCrisken, our Musical Director.  We sang Evensong in the National Cathedral in Washington DC, and presented two concerts in Philadelphia, the first at
Villanova University
, and the second at the Parish of St Malachy

At each of these events, we performed a new work ('Exsultet') which we had commissioned from Neil Martin, a leading Irish composer whose work spans television, radio, theatre, concert stage and studio.

The full programmes for all three events are available online.

View the Press releases for the Philadelphia area events, the Choral Evensong in Washington National Cathedral and the US performances of 'Exsultet'.

We gratefully acknowledge the financial assistance of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland in supplying National Lottery funding to allow us to commission a new work from Neil Martin ('Exsultet') to be premiered in Northern Ireland and performed on our USA tour.

We also gratefully acknowledge the financial assistance of Culture Ireland in supplying funding to assist in performing 'Exsultet' in the USA as part of their 2011 "Imagine Ireland" project.

There are two ways in which you can help support us financially in our exciting tour to the USA.  Each option can be used separately or in combination with another.

Gift Aid Online Donation:  Donations of any size will be welcomed and can be paid by credit/debit card.  You will receive two tickets to our pre-tour premiere and reception and if you are an individual UK taxpayer, Cappella Caeciliana will increase the value of your donation through the Gift Aid scheme.  If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can reclaim the difference between basic and higher rate tax on your tax return.  You will be listed as a Benefactor in our pre-tour and USA programmes.

Non Gift Aid Donation:  Donations of any size will be welcomed and can be paid by cheque or, online, by credit/debit card.  You will receive two tickets to our pre-tour premiere and reception.  You will be listed as a Benefactor in our pre-tour and USA programmes.
